MOM Needs YOU There are so many ways to help others and MOM (Mission of Mercy) needs you in many important ways. Catherine Amoit, executive director of MOM, has provided us with a list of ways to volunteer your time and talent... WHO IS MISSION OF MERCY? Mission of Mercy is a 501 c (3) community-based non-profit organization that has been in operation in Arizona since 1997. Using a mobile medical model, we provide free health care and free prescription medications to the uninsured and under-insured. As a non-profit, we receive no government funding and our patients do not need to prove their poverty or residency to receive treatment. We are volunteer-driven and guided by our Mission Statement to “restore dignity to all people by being an instrument of “healing through Love”. As a mobile medical clinic that brings the Doctor to the community, we know we cannot do this by ourselves. With the help of our collaborative partners and over 300 dedicated volunteers, we now operate a total of six clinic sites throughout the greater Phoenix/Maricopa County area and are able to offer a no-cost medical home to over 30,000 patients. WHAT DO WE NEED? 1. Physicians (we provide necessary liability insurance for all medical volunteers) 2. Nurses (at this time, we cannot accept new graduates with less than 1 year’s experience) 3. Nurse Practitioners 4. Bi-Lingual Patient Educators 5. Bi-Lingual Interpreters 6. Drivers 7. Administrative Unpaid Staff Positions (IT, Clinic Tour Support Team, Social Media, Communications, Data Input) 8. Friend-Builder/Special Event Volunteers 9. Community Ambassadors and Storytellers 10. Leadership Council Members HOW DO I SIGN UP? If you would like to explore how to become one of our valued volunteers, please contact: Ana Berlanga, Volunteer Coordinator (602) 861-2233 [email protected] You can also sign up to join us at one of our 1-hour public clinic tours, called “Coffee with M.O.M.”.
