MOMMY QUESTION: I would also love a fathers opinion if possible. My ex and I divorced when my daughter was 5. That was 6 years ago. He has progressively distanced himself from her. To the point that hell only see her once every couple of months now, and only because she wants to see him or her cousins (in his side). He hasnt even seen her for Xmas yet. Never calls or texts. Shes the one that has to contact him. They used to be very close, but I cant say he was the type that ever really cared all that much. Everything else seems to take a higher priority in his life, than her. But somehow he thinks hes a great dad and it doesnt bother him at all. Im remarried, have another child now, and my daughter has a great relationship with her step-daddy. She said to me I wish my step-dad was my real dad. It broke my heart and I didnt know what to say. So my question is two part: 1.) I have talked to my ex about his lack of a relationship with our daughter many many times. He doesnt listen and doesnt care to talk to me about it. Should I just give up? And 2.) how can I comfort my daughter through this? What can I say to her? Thx in advance ladies
