MONDAY 21ST, OCT 2013 How to develop the Anointing within (4) Isaiah 40:28-31 This morning, I want to conclude this study on developing the strength of God in your inner man. 7. Righteousness: Hebrews 1:9 says “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows” Righteousness will multiply the grace of God in you. Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” 8. Fasting: Isaiah 40: 28 -31 Fasting is another means through which God strengthens our spirit man. As a child of God who is going somewhere serious with the Lord, you should separate at least a day in the week when you will be waiting upon the Lord in fasting and praying. According to Isaiah 40:28-31 when you wait upon the Lord, He renews your strength. He takes away the old strength and gives you a higher one. You remember on day when the some of the disciples of the Lord could not cast out a devil tormenting a boy, Jesus casted it out and when they asked Him why they could not do it, Jesus answered them that that kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting (Mathew 17:14-21). The implication is that there are some levels one will not get to under God, there are things one will not be able to accomplish under God without a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. 9. Staying under a right spiritual father: Some of major blessing of a spiritual father in your life when it comes to the development of spiritual strength will be to help you develop the strength of God in your life, help you identifies activities in your life that can destroy your spiritual strength and then sharing their strength with you. Another activity of a true spiritual father which a great number of Christians do not like is rebuke and correction. If you hate rebuke and correction, you will never carry authentic oil, strength and grace and if you will carry it, you will lose with time or you will destroy yourself with it. The brothers of David could not face Goliath, because they have not taken time to develop spiritual strength with God. When David was old, one of the descendants of Goliath was about to kill him one day before the son of David’s brother came in and killed that giant. That boy had the story of how his father ran away from giant, but he made up his mind to be trained by a giant killing spirit called David, that strength was developed in him and he became a giant killer (2 Samuel 21: 15 -22) Prayer: Lord, I take responsibility for acquiring strength in my inner man.
