MONDAY 24th NOVEMBER UPDATE It has been another big day of announcements, just five days out from the State Election, with a re-elected Napthine Coalition Government announcing: - funding for a new $2.5 million SES Unit in Cranbourne, boosting emergency response capabilities for the rapidly growing Casey community; - 700 additional front line police officers; - 250 specialist police officers to tackle issues such as E-crime, fraud, counter-terrorism, forensics and special investigations; - a 50-member PSO Strike Force; - a $25 million Tech Policing fund to equip them with real time information; - a $5.2 million pledge to break down barriers and encourage more women into non-traditional career pathways such as trades, engineering, science, advanced manufacturing and construction; - $15 million for Family Business Grants worth $7,500, to support Victorian parents establish home-based businesses; - $34 million over four years to protect patients and staff in Victorian hospitals and other health services, improving the security and safety of Victorian health services and reducing violence against hospital staff; - 150 additional full-time paramedics - capacity for extended Ambulance services in high demand areas; - eight new ambulance stations to be built; and - a Victorian Paramedics Registration Board, which all build on the Coalition Government’s record high funding for Ambulance Services, an increase of $132 million, or 23 per cent, since 2010.
