MONDAY MORNING TRIVIA: As the Executive Director of the Baseball - TopicsExpress

MONDAY MORNING TRIVIA: As the Executive Director of the Baseball Reliquary (and now co-Director of the Institute for Baseball Studies), I’m usually the one asking trivia questions and dispensing $2 bills to the winners (although I must credit longtime Reliquarian Sam James as the one who came up with the ingenious concept of the $2 trivia quiz). This morning, over breakfast, my wife was reading yesterday’s edition of Parade magazine and asked me the following question: “Which Major League Baseball player has won the most World Series?” I correctly answered Yogi Berra, now age 89, who holds the record for most World Series appearances, 14, and wins, with 10 – as well as a career record for most World Series hits, with 71. My prize for the right answer? No, not a $2 bill – but I did get an extra slice of bacon.
