MONDAY My hubby and I visit a local casino a couple of times a week. We eat at the cafe, and then we spend a few hours playing their slot machines. Because we do this...we accrue points, which in turn allow us to be included in their weekend drawings for prizes and cash. Last Saturday evening we were there around the time of the 2nd drawing, (they have three of them). We dont accrue many points so I never get excited over the drawings as I figure they wont call our names. But we are ever hopeful. As the time approached for the 2nd drawing, I felt the need to take a pee. Now this wasnt just your regular pee. This had been building up for a while. Lets just say...if I was a youngster I would have been hopping back and forth on my feet...Lol So at the last minute I decide to make a run to the bathroom. I raced to the nearest restroom and rushed into the first available stall, whipped my pants down and took that much needed pee. As Im washing my hands at the sink Im thinking, Wouldnt it be a hoot if they called my name? So I rush back to the area where we were sitting, and find my hubbys chair empty!!! I asked the fellow sitting in the adjacent chair if he knew where my hubby went. He calmly looks over at me and says in a snide manner, They called your name and he went up front to the drawing area to let them know you were in the bathroom. Folks, I did my best imitation of that cartoon character, (the Road Runner), and did it in record time. I must have pushed aside at least three large guys. I even elbowed a senior citizen who thought she was going to cross in front of me. You should have seen the look she gave me. When I arrived, there stood my hubby and one of the casino hosts. I walked up and gave them my I.D., and took my place in line with the rest of the people whose names had been called. I did not win the grand prize of $5,000 dollars. Instead, I won $250.00 of free slot play. Am I disappointed? Not at all. I was a WINNER and considering how I could have missed my chance...Im feeling not only lucky, but very grateful. LESSON LEARNED: Always be prepared...(giggles) This ole gal
