MONDAY RANT: I truly dont know why people just amaze me but they really do... and not in a good way. We get a call just before 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve from this Dad who is frantic to adopt a puppy. He didnt care what breed or what gender... he wanted to adopt a puppy and wanted to adopt a puppy now. So sorry but though we do have puppies, there is no way we are going to allow you to adopt one of our babies at the last minute on Christmas Eve just so you can look good to your kids. Given the fact that you waited til the last minute and your pleas seemed to be very impulsive, odds are you wouldve returned our baby, dumped him or turned him into a shelter once you had your fill of him. So today, the ignorance continued. We get a call from a guy stating that his wife found a dog and didnt want to turn him into a shelter. He goes on to say that hes pissed because now hes riding around trying to find a Rescue or someone to take him so he doesnt have to listen to his wife. I asked him to please send photos so I can get him posted and try to find a home. That wasnt good enough because he then tells me you dont understand, you need to take this dog now because I dont have the time for this and I dont have any photos. I calmly explain to him that we need photos or at the very least a description and location of where he was found. He then proceeds to tell me that all of us Rescues are the same and its ridiculous how we just cant take in any baby found at the drop of a hat and then hangs up on me. And then I get a call from a man who wants to adopt a dog and he also doesnt care what breed, size, gender. He asks if there is a fee and I tell him yes and explain what the adoption fee includes. He then tells me thats stupid because since we are a Rescue we should just be letting people have dogs for free because we are helping you. I then ask him if he cant afford to pay the adoption fee how is he going to take care of him and he tells me that there is nothing to take care of anymore if he adopts him fully vetted and altered. Ugh.... all I can say is fa la la la la la la la la.
