MONDAY REVIEW: Youve Got No Fans have plenty of goals A thoroughly entertaining night of football was served up on the Spalding & South Holland Voice 6-a-side league on Monday night as results varied, from the very close to the totally one-sided. No draws were seen across the twelve matches and plenty of goals (75 in fact!!) meant the two division tables continue to take-shape. Division One Notinmymums Forest chalked up their second win in a row following a very impressive win against a stubborn Univeg Team. The final score was 2-1 to Notinmymums Forest as they climbed into fourth spot. The game itself was a great advert for the league, both sides playing in the right spirit with the result uncertain right to the very end. Notinmymums Forest played with no substitutes and will openly admit they were hanging on at the end as Univeg pushed for an equaliser. Tom Cherry was picked as man of the match for his tenacious work-rate and deft touches at the top of the Notinmymums Forest attack. Polishborough turned out in attractive new kit and managed to maintain their 100% start to the campaign. The title-favourites managed to secure a comfortable 4-0 shutout against struggling Pinchbeck United. This latest win makes it six wins from six as last-seasons runners-up continue to set the early pace. Thomasz Michalowicz scooped his first man of the match for Polishborough following this secure outing. Pinchbeck failing to find their tempo against the continually well-organised middle-line of Polishborough. A tough tie against Univeg awaits for the Poles next Monday as they look to continue their league domination. Last seasons two promoted division two sides went head-to-head for the first time in the top tier. Reigning division two champions Posh Old Boys were put the sword in a 7-4 goal-fest against reignited Old Boy Coaches. Even with Darren Spillet in the sin-bin Posh Old Boys couldnt make the extra man count and the prepared and professional showing from Old Boy Coaches saw them take the advantage. Posh Old Boys evidently missing the bellowing tones of skipper, goalkeeper and all-round tactician Simon Black. Trevor Laud picked up another man of the match for Old Boys after impressing referee Matthew Follett. The most one-sided match of the night saw Youve Got No Fans turn over EPH Allstars 14-2. The score line not flattering YGNF as they completely dominated the game from start to finish. Were it not for the individual heroics of the EPH keeper this could well have finished as a record score. As it was the impressive victory catapults YGNF into 8th place and keeps EPH rock-bottom on goal difference. Scott Williams was given his third man of the match of the season as he takes an early lead in the player of the season tally. EPH face a relegation four-pointer against Pinchbeck United next week in a must-win game. Brennans Sports suffered their second-straight defeat for the first time since the league began. They went down 5-1 to Baltic United in a result which was closer than the score suggests. Brennans enjoyed the better of the early exchanges and managed to take the lead but Baltic did what they do best - take any scrap of a chance that is afforded to them. With Edgaras Buzas running the attack Baltic will always be a threat for any lapse in defending. The score was only 2-1 approaching the last few minutes but a flurry of quick goals saw Brennans drop down to fifth in the league. They go against high-flying Ultra D next Monday. Baltics Aris Plalis was given the nod as man of the match by referee Tim Stoodley. Ten goals went in between Wet Dream Team and Ultra D as both sides threw caution to the wind. Ultra D managed to keep up their impressive recent form by snatching the win 6-4. Wet Dream Team had moments of brilliance though and will be encouraged by their overall play. Ultra D continuing to show that they are a surprise threat this season with their third straight win. Louis Steadman was given man of the match as he continued to impress for the boys in black. Wet Dream Team will look to bounce straight back in a winnable tie against Old Boy Coaches next time around. Division Two Mail Carters suffered their third straight defeat as they went down 2-1 to a hard-working Goaldiggers. George Smith managing to impress referee Carlos Costa as he got the nod for man of the match. The tight score line a fair reflection of a game which could have swung either way. Both sides trying to boss the midfield in a topsy-turvy game of possession hot-potato. The result pushes Goaldiggers to a season-high of fifth place and keeps Mail Carters out of the bottom two on goal difference. Last seasons wooden spoon holders are still impressing but failing to secure the results to match their rejuvenated play. Tekkerslovakia took an early lead against Sarahs Boys but suffered a 2-1 loss. The result was a fair reflection of the domination that Sarahs Boys enjoyed after conceding early on. Joe Martin got man of the match as he finished beautifully for the winning goal. Tekkerslovakia keeper and captain Jamie Wroniak was kept busy and his team failed to hold-up the play in the midfield. This allowed Cameron Walker and the Sarahs Boys to push forward with ease, picking through passes and creating numerous good goal-scoring chances. Borrussia Teeth succumbed to the drastic improvement in form that Le Saux Solid Crew have enjoyed recently. The Crew winning this tie 5-0 in a result which launches them to seventh in the table. Harry Ledger was the main man once again with his second man of the match showing in as many games. Borrussia still struggling to find their feet despite a couple of decent individual performances. Teamwork is the key now for Borrussia ahead of their game against Goaldiggers next Monday evening. Evolutions unbeaten start came to an abrupt end. A disastrous defensive mix-up in the final few minutes saw new-boys The TBME run out 2-1 winners. The TBME have been in inspired form since joining the league and have now announced themselves as genuine contenders for promotion following this very impressive win. They face the equally in-form Le Saux Solid Crew next week while Evolution will look to overcome this blip against Tekkerslovakia. Jake Farrell was given man of the match in this game. Five goals in two second-half minutes contributed to BK Athletics 7-0 drubbing of rock-bottom Balotellitubbies. Last seasons division one wooden spoon winners have struggled to find any flow in the lower tier as they crumpled to their fourth straight defeat. The score line was probably a fair reflection, although Balotellitubbies did have a handful of decent chances against the energetic and pacey BKs Athletic lads. BKs now sit fourth and will be delighted with the start theyve shown. Liam Ford bossing the game with a great individual performance which saw him take home the man of the match award for this game. Simple FC remain the only team in the second division with a 100% record after their sixth straight victory. This time Dynamo Kiev were the victims as they lost 3-1. This is the Dynamos fourth straight defeat but equally their fourth 9pm kick-off. The fixture computer clearly having a grudge against Zack Lucas and his Dynamo team. Simple FC lived up to their name with decent pass-and-move football. It wasnt their best showing but as the cliché goes potential champions can grind out results even when they dont play their best. Leigh Boekestijn picking up his third man of the match award to take and early lead in the player of the season pack.
