MONITORING IN REDFIN TERRITORY! The Yarra River, in the Wonga Park/Warrandyte region, in Melbournes outer east, is a popular fishing destination. Large Redfin are caught, along with Carp. The Redfin jump up out of the water, scaring the dayiights out of canoeists and kayakers! The Reserve at the end of Lower Homestead Rd, next to the canoe launching ramp, and at the foot of Mt Lofty, is also a relatively noise-free location for SW radio monitoring. I went out there today, climbed Mt Lofty and did some monitoring research in the mid-afternoon. Good propagation on 9 MHz, including these from Middle East: VOIRI 9710 English to 0420* 9800 Arabic 0400 9550 Turkish from *0420 9500 Arabic to 0420* VOT 9655 English 0400 OMAN BBC Persian 0415 Catch a Redfin!
