MOON COLIC SERIOUS: Prayers needed Very rough day today. I went out to feed the horses as usual, only to find my favorite horse Moon in pain from colic. This is the worst Ive ever seen him colic. I walked him around for two hours to encourage a bowel movement, and nothing; absolutely nothing. I tried loading him into the trailer (usually makes him nervous), and again, nothing. Walked him more, and twice he collapsed behind me from weakness and pain. I was preparing to take him to the Vets, and just like that, he seemed to return to normal and started eating grass off the ground. I gave him a tiny handful of grain just to see if he would eat it, and he did, but slowly. But for future reference, it is never a good idea to grain them after a colic episode; wait usually about 24 hours. I finally left about 2:30 this afternoon as he looked stable. I hope that tomorrow will not be a repeat. Please pray for my boy Moon. I have a bad feeling about this one...will likely take him to the Vets tomorrow morning...I fear he might have a severe intestinal infection, or possibly a blockage in his colon; he never did pass a bowel movement the entire time I worked with him
