MOOT (Music of Our Time) aims to provide opportunities for Brighton and Hove residents to get to know, appreciate and enjoy contemporary music while providing a platform for local talented artist and musicians. They are currently recruiting volunteers to fill a number of roles: 1) Fundraising Managers (ID Ref 721): 2 fundraising managers required, one for raising via public funding organizations (ACE etc); one for raising from local and national business sponsors. 2) Fundraising Assistants (ID Ref: 636): to work with MOOTs artistic director on fundraising opportunities to sustain current and future projects. 3) Front of House Manager (ID Ref: 720): This position involves theatre/venue business that concerns the audience including ticket sales. This is an important position employing multi-skills both in the presenting and social field as well as working with the Treasurer in the financial field throughout the year on arrangements for MOOTs monthly public performances and for the varied package of events that they have planned for the 2014 Brighton Festival. 4) Audience Research Office (ID Ref: 719): This role involves looking at audience expectation and experience and ways to measure this, then working with the Educational Policy Officer and Artistic Director to promote a favourable response. 5) Fringe Festival 2014 Event Co-ordinator (ID Ref: 646): involves participation in organising Sounds of War: Instruments of Peace 1914-2014, a major series of events planned for the Brighton Fringe Festival taking place in May 2014. Activites include media publicity for audience development; public presentation and hands-on work will also be available opportunities for you to practise your skills working in contact with performing artists and members of the public. The volunteering will be lively and concentrated on taking the group to the level of self-sustainability and the promotion, commission and performance of contemporary music in a variety of different venues and environments for the purposes of public education, appreciation, enjoyment and understanding about new music. 6) Personal Assistants (ID Ref: 722): There are vacancies for 3 volunteer assistants to the Artistic Director, Educational Policy Officer and Secretary to share the increasing workload as MOOT expand their connections with other organisations and performers during the year and especially to help with their particular objective of promoting new music amongst young people by example and experience.
