MORE ABOUT LANDSCAPING, specifically urine spots in lawns: As you know, we are always on the lookout for new pet products, telling you about those with benefits, and cautioning you about those that can do harm. We have seen a new product that claims to eliminate the brownout spots that dog urine can cause in your lawns - it is a box of rocks from Australia that you are to put in the water bowl. And to that we say, ARE YOU KIDDING? Their site says the rocks *filter* the water - yet they just sit in the bowl. If the rocks are instead leaching something into the water for the dogs to ingest - we should KNOW what we are feeding our dogs. They advocate topping up the water in the bowl, but not changing it out - so bacteria will proliferate. They suggest feeding lower protein kibble instead of higher meat protein diets - not the greatest idea, and for a variety of reasons. ANY product that alters body chemistry enough to change the pH of the urine is to be questioned and understood before using. This is NOT a product we will carry in our store!
