MORE BILLBOARDS. These were spotted in the hard drive after my earlier posting. I used to go out at night with a tripod and slide film and do four or five frames with different exposures to get one good one. Digital has fixed that problem. In the same spot at different times (1990s or early 2000s) on the side of convenience store at Dupont St. and Spadina Rd. As the pictures show, pedestrians walk right by the installation in a nice bit of billboard drama. The Fifties view from Toronto Archives looks like it was shot nearby, on the other side of the CPR main line north of Dupont -- perhaps a block or so east where Davenport Rd. cuts under the railroad tracks.
