MORE DIVERSITY FROM OUR SUNDAY RIVER EXCURSION...And the St. Johns - TopicsExpress

MORE DIVERSITY FROM OUR SUNDAY RIVER EXCURSION...And the St. Johns is nothing if not diverse---naturally and culturally ! Was great to spent much of the day with my dear friend Sabine Lanninger & her mate Terry, along with several others aboard a small pontoon boat. While I love kayaking-into-nature, its always fun to mix it up once in a while riding aboard a boat with its own modest propulsion. We launched from Hontoon Island Marina and went south for a bit, exploring tiny creeks, and then back out on the mainstream, stopped at the waterfront Shady Oaks eatery near the SR 44 bridge for some downhome Southern cooking. By the time we finally returned to Hontoon in the afternoon, the ever-changing sky was putting on its own billowing vapor show, a portend of soggier moments. We docked and exited while still dry, and then drove home to Sanford to see the glorious Florida sun officially end the day via its twilight immersion into Bartrams Grand & Noble San Juan !
