With 26 participants (20 female and 6 male) from 16 co-ops from Mindanao; conducted by a training team from the Asian Women in Co-operative Development Forum (AWCF) and MASS-SPECC. Also at the training, Mr. Edwin Pelosas, who is the Officer in Charge of Training and Information Section and Gender Focal Person of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)-Region 10 Extension Office, talked to the participants about CDAs Memorandum Circular (MC) 2013-22. The MC issues the guidelines on mainstreaming gender and development in Philippine co-ops (see cda.gov.ph/images/Issuances/MCs/MC2013-22-Guidelines-on-mainstreaming-GAD-in-coops.pdf). Mr. Pelosas discussed the CDA Extension Offices promotion of the MC in 2014 as well as the information that his office will send to co-ops in early 2015 for the MCs implementation.
