MORE THOUGHTS ON THE RESIDENCE PERMIT FIASCO If you are aged - TopicsExpress

MORE THOUGHTS ON THE RESIDENCE PERMIT FIASCO If you are aged over 60 and thinking about retiring permanently over here, I am not sure how you are now going to do it. The ongoing Residence Permit fiasco states that in order to get a Residence Permit, you must have insurance to cover you for in-patient, out-patient and medical treatment. So that only leaves SGK state health insurance or full private health insurance. 1. If you are aged over 60, you are unlikely to be able to get private health insurance. 2. If you have not been resident in Turkey for a year, you cannot get SGK Therefore, you will be unable to get a residence permit and be unable to move to Turkey as a permanent resident if aged over 60. The E-Visa allows you a stay of 90 days in 180. So about the best you can do is 3 months in Turkey, 3 months in the UK, 3 months in Turkey and the final 3 months in the UK. If anyone thinks I have worked this out wrong, please let me know.
