MORE2 and AIRR (Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation) teaming up to assist refugees at the border. AIRR and MORE2 are seeking donations and volunteers to provide aid for refugee children at the border. Please bring any of the following donations to church by Saturday, August 9th: *Food (e.g. pinto beans, rice, oatmeal, lemonade mix, snacks) *Clothing, under garments, shoes, washcloths, towels *Diapers, feminine products, toiletries *Cleaning supplies *Monetary donations AIRR (Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation) and MORE2 (Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equity) will be gathering and taking the items to New Mexico on August 10th. The donations will be made to/through Project Oak Tree to assist immigrant families transition in a humane way to their temporary home while they await their asylum hearing. Please make checks payable to the Diocese of Las Cruces (reference Project Oak Tree on the memo line).
