MORIHARA STORE IN KULA: The Morihara family began their store in the 1930s when they lived in Camp One in Spreckelsville. They later moved their operation to Waiakoa, Kula where they lived over the store. The store was moved once again to the former Tavares Meat and Grocery, and in 1981 the Moriharas bought that building from the Tavares family. Morihara Store is still in business there. The original Kula store is now a private residence across from the Kula Community Center.
