MORNING RANT: The Big Bang and Evolution will annoy you if you are religious because they challenge deeply held beliefs. This should not make you to commit suicide or put you in a position where you always have to defend your god/God. Understanding is pleasure. So start with the small things and build your knowledge of things from the bottom. Go back to your class 6 - Form 4 textbooks and read how mountains form, how Rift Valleys form, how lakes form, how oceans form, read the hydrological cycle, read about tsunamis, earthquakes, floods etc . After doing that go back to your holy books and whiten all areas that state God/god will cause rivers/mountains/tsunamis/oceans etch to do whatever and whatever. Then begin studying on diseases, start with cellular biology (Form 1) just to know what the hell bacteria, viruses, fungi are... and then link them to diseases and disease outbreaks.. then sit down and know that any person with an infection should be taken to the hospital first and that prayers may be good for psychological health but you also need to work on their physical health too. Then look around you and see changes, changes in species, changes in environments, changes in the cosmos. The causes of these changes is contained in tonnes of books you cannot maliza in your lifestime, so check out new and simplified sources of information.. Go to Youtube (or wherever) and download science documentaries and watch to learn and enjoy. With time youll begin to grasp the interplay between all these bodies of knowledge and develop an intricate but coherent understanding of most of the developments in the physical world and how these changes influence our environments and us, and put in place determinants that will affect changes in our species and other species. It is a very interesting journey when you join the knowledge from the physical sciences with the social sciences - how our societies, cultures (religion is here) and economies grow and change as they interact with other societies, cultures, and economies. Watch how ideas intermingle to form new unions, see how language struggles to describe all these marvels, and how human beings define and advance their civilization vis a vis the propensities of continuity of the lives of other species and ecosystems. We could go on and on and enjoy ourselves as we shine lights into the crevices of ignorance and have fun while at it.
