MORNING THOUGHT: Jesus taking on the sins of man and dying on - TopicsExpress

MORNING THOUGHT: Jesus taking on the sins of man and dying on the cross is not to be used as a get out of hell for free card. When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior we, by default, come into the fullness of His grace. Grace which, according to the Strongs Concordance, is derived from the Greek word Charis which means that we receive His favor and kindness. Now, I must warn you some would disagree with my next statement, but if the favor of God was just handed out beacuse everyone accepted Jesus there would be no need to refrain from evil. With that being said, the favor and kindness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is activated by our willingness to strive toward living a righteous and holy life and in our efforts of striving to live holy we must not negelct the reading of Gods word. This is becuase a Christians true growth lies in two place Gods word and tests and trials. Now, as we grow in the word of God we MUST recognize that the word is to be sharper then a two edged sword. This is because it must not only be rich in its content, but it must cut out all that is not of God from our lives. So, for those who preach Gods word it must be sharpclassic atonement gospel, justification gospel, as well as the gospel of grace. For those who are receivers and readers of the gospel, you must receive it in the way that it corrects, reproves, renews, and restores your life. In other words, the word of God MUST become active in your lives. If we do this, we will become fully mature and we will come to understanding that it is the sharpness of the gosple that makes it rich and applicable in our lives. Yes, when we become fully mature in the knowledge of Christ will come to understand that if we really wish to receive Gods gift of eternal life we must live holy because He is holy. Yes, we come into the wisdom that Jesus dying on the cross was a sacrifice of Love. We will come into the knowledge that Jesus dying for manking is not now, nor will it ever be a free pass to sin. SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY: John 3:16, 1 Peter 2:2-3, Hebrews 4:11-12, 2 Timothy 2:15, & 1 Peter 1:15-16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (So) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Remember) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (You Must) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.(Understanding) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
