MORNING TONIC. TOPIC: ADD SALT T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ U̶̲̥̅̊Я OFFERINGS. TEXT: LEVITICUS 2: 1 - 3; 11 - 13. It looks as if we Α̲̅я̩̥̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ looking at another general directive Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ worshipping God. Grain cooked in its various ways would have been grown by D̶̲̥̅̊ one who offered D̶̲̥̅̊ gift. Honey Ãήϑ teast Α̲̅я̩̥̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ both excluded as these Α̲̅я̩̥̊ε̲̣̣̣̥ gifts of nature given by God T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ man. Salt however was A̶̲̥̅ rare Ãήϑ precious gift that could only have been purchased by D̶̲̥̅̊ labour of ones hands. Of course it was possible T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ go T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ D̶̲̥̅̊ dead sea Ãήϑ collect D̶̲̥̅̊ salt from there but even that would have been an effort Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ those living nearby. Salt was D̶̲̥̅̊ opposite of leaven, Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ it preserved from decomposition Ãήϑ corruption, Ãήϑ signified D̶̲̥̅̊ purity Ãήϑ persevering fidelity that were necessary in D̶̲̥̅̊ worship of God. Everything was seasoned with it, T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ signify D̶̲̥̅̊ purity Ãήϑ perfection that should be extended through every part of our service T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ God. It was called D̶̲̥̅̊ salt of D̶̲̥̅̊ covenant of God, because as salt Ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̇ incorruptible, so was D̶̲̥̅̊ covenant made with Abram, Isaac, Jacob Ãήϑ D̶̲̥̅̊ patriarchs, relative T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ D̶̲̥̅̊ redemption of D̶̲̥̅̊ world by D̶̲̥̅̊ coming Ãήϑ death of Jesus Christ. Colossians 4:6 comments Let U̶̲̥̅̊я conversation be always full of grace seasoned with salt, so that Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ may know how T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ answer everyone. Salt brings out D̶̲̥̅̊ flavour but should never be over used. Our speech should be seasoned with D̶̲̥̅̊ G♡̷̬̩̃̊♡̷̬̩̃̊d things of God but too much salt may make our speech unkind or unworthy of our God. As with burned flesh we wonder if God really wanted burned bread, it seems impossible T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ think so. But how easy it Ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̇ T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ think that God wants D̶̲̥̅̊ offering of A̶̲̥̅ sincere Ãήϑ generous heart? A̶̲̥̅ heart that Ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̇ happy T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ offer A̶̲̥̅ gift praising D̶̲̥̅̊ one who Ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̇ happy T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ give D̶̲̥̅̊ greatest gift of all, Himself. PRAYER: Gracious Father, grant that our lives will be an expression of purity Ãήϑ our words full of grace, seasoned with salt, T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ live A̶̲̥̅ purposeful life in Christ Jesus. Amen!!!
