MORNING TONIC. TOPIC: AN AROMA PLEASING T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ D̶̲̥̅̊ LORD. TEXT: LEVITICUS 1: 1 - 4; 10 - 13. Chaopter 1 abd D̶̲̥̅̊ entire book of Leviticus opens quite abruptly talking about burnt offerings. Here we have no introduction, story or greeting. Much has T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ be said Ãήϑ under D̶̲̥̅̊ guidance of D̶̲̥̅̊ Holy Spirit, Moses sets his hand T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ D̶̲̥̅̊ task that we may now learn from. In this chapter Moses teaches about whole burnt offerings. In A̶̲̥̅ society that rerely kills its own meant it seems impossible T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ understand God, D̶̲̥̅̊ almighty One being happy with A̶̲̥̅ gift of burnt meat. How can God enjoy burnt meat? We certainly dont enjoy it ourselves; roast, grilled, Barbequed or even boiled but ήºƭ burned. Perhaps it was more that D̶̲̥̅̊ burning flesh D̶̲̥̅̊ our God was looking Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅. These animals had been raised by D̶̲̥̅̊ penitent but were A̶̲̥̅ sign of abundance from A̶̲̥̅ generous God. D̶̲̥̅̊ laying ºή of hands in verse 4 was Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ D̶̲̥̅̊ symbolic transfer of sin. D̶̲̥̅̊ animal now bore D̶̲̥̅̊ sin Ãήϑ D̶̲̥̅̊ one who gave we symbolically clean just because God had ordained it so. D̶̲̥̅̊ whole animal had T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ be offered Ãήϑ destroyed so that nothing remained; neither animal nor sin. This was ήºƭ A̶̲̥̅ time of mourning but of rejoicung. Here was A̶̲̥̅ pleasing aroma because sin had been destroyed Ãήϑ turned T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ ashes. D̶̲̥̅̊ gift of D̶̲̥̅̊ broken heart of sin was laid upon D̶̲̥̅̊ alter Ãήϑ destroyed completely. In such A̶̲̥̅ gift God was indeed well pleased Ãήϑ it did become A̶̲̥̅ pleasing aroma T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ Him. PRAYER: Dear Father, †̥ånkz-► Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ D̶̲̥̅̊ body that was broken Ƒό̲̣̣̣̥r̲̅ our sins T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ be removed. Help us T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ always present ourselves blameless Ãήϑ spotless T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊ as A̶̲̥̅ sacrifice of sweet aroma that Ȋ̝̊̅ƨ̣̇ pleasing T̶̲̥̅Ơ̴͡ Ÿ̲̣̣̣̥ø̲̣̣̥u̶̲̥̅̊; through Christ. Amen!!!
