NEWS MAKING HEADLINES Supreme Court orders Woyome to refund state money The Supreme Court has ordered businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome to refund GH¢51.2 million to the state. According to the Court, the money was paid Mr Woyome through invalid and unconstitutional contract as it was in contravention of the 1992 Constitution. Living conditions of Ghanaians deteriorating – Christian Council tells Gov’t The Christian Council of Ghana has appealed to the government, religious and traditional leaders to focus on rebuilding the confidence the people they are responsible for by working to improve living standards. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Christian Council stated that most Ghanaians “are losing confidence in themselves and their leaders” due to their “deteriorating living conditions” and the current state of the country’s economy Mahama to personally chase CDB loan in August President John Mahama will travel to China in August to meet with his Chinese counterpart in an attempt to get the remainder of the three billion dollar Chinese loan released.
