MOTHER TONGUE? Some people are afraid to speak the English language because they dnt feel linguistically competent . Some however wil speak English regardless of what others may think,their motivation being to communicate. These are the 2 categories of English speakers in Botswana,it seems to me. Well there is a third category.these are the people who use English jus to show off to others that le rona re bafana gentlemens.there is one of these in every office,home,classroom,bar or factory. You knw them very well. They wil seize any and every opportunity to let loose a bombastic word just to bamboozle you. These are the people who use the Advanced Oxford Dictionary as a pillow every night. Where do they get such nosensical grandiloquence which ultimately serves towards the befuddlement of the poor audience ? Oops! Im doing it too, but that just to make my point.
