MOTHERLY NATURE Nature is like a mother who never fails to take - TopicsExpress

MOTHERLY NATURE Nature is like a mother who never fails to take care of you and inspire you. It gives you a sense of hope that all is well with the world. My recent escape from the scorching heat of Delhi to be in the lap of the Himalayas proved this in a variety of ways. All that I could feel during my sojourn there was that nature cares and cures. It humbles you and makes you realise to what extent you have spoiled yourself in the noisy and polluted world of metropolitan cities and how far you are displaced from the realities of life. You feel, for once, grounded and safe in nature’s care. You see life in its true colour and beauty. We can thrive only if nature thrives. Mother Teresa had said, “God is the friend of silence. See how nature --- trees, flowers, grass --- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun and how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls.” Nature shows you the way to the soul. You can see the kind of vales and daffodils that Wordsworth made famous in his nature poems, describing nature and its pristine glory, giving you peace of mind and soul. George Washington Carver, whose love for nature was like his love for life, says: “I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if only you tune in.” One can listen to the music of the soul in nature. It has a tremendous power to light up even the worst of the depressed. When the sun sets, we look forward to see the beauty of the twinkling stars in the depth of darkness; and when the night is over, we look forward to see the benevolent sunrise to give us energy and strength and light so that we dispel the darkness within ourselves. As someone said, let us remember, always, the earth does not belong to us, we belong to the earth
