MOTLALEPULA NTSALA FAMILY TO RECEIVE SUPPORT The Free State Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in partnership with the Setsoto Local Municipality host the second annual Motlalepula Ntsala Football Tournament in June this year. This tournament is held annually to pay homage to the life of a young, talented and aspirant soccer player who was a learner at the Boitumelo Secondary School in Meqheleng, Ficksburg. Motlalepula Ntsala passed away during the hosting of the 32 Schools Mini Soccer World Cup in 2010. The Schools Mini World Cup was held as part of the department’s build up towards the 2010 Soccer World Cup hosted in South Africa and to invoke a sense of enthusiasm amongst young and aspirant soccer players ahead of the FIFA World Cup. The incident that involved Motlalepula and another player was unexpected and tragic. It is within this context that the department, under the leadership of MEC D.A.M. Kgothule also felt it necessary that the family left behind, be supported in any way possible to help in the difficult time after a loved one is taken away, especially at such a young age. The Department will be handing over several household items such as various necessary appliances and groceries to Maliqaletane Ennie Ntsala. As part of the Mandela Day Celebrations, the family home will also be painted. The hand-over will be as follows: Date: 18 July 2013 Venue: 2095 Zone 2, Diketeng, Meqheleng, Ficksburg Time: 11:00 The department remains committed to not only sport, talent and youth development, but the support of the community in difficult times.
