MOUR OF THE SAME ... Jose Mourinho gestures during his first Press conference back at Chelsea Published: 21 minutes ago JOSE MOURINHO today addressed media for the first time since his return to Chelsea was confirmed. The new Blues boss gave an hour-long Press conference covering a whole host of topics. Here’s a round-up of what he had to say. Jose on... Roman Abramovich: “One of points for me is my relationship with the owner has to be private. What is discussed has to be private. That privacy is crucial. “The point is we all want the same. We are all in the same direction. It’s a moment where I think we have maturity, a very good feeling, same perspective for the future of the club. “My area is football but more and more in football have to be deeply connected with all areas of the club. We have the same vision and I’m more than happy to follow this philosophy.” Jose on... why he left Chelsea in 2007: “I read and I keep hearing that I was fired, I was sacked, we had a complete breakdown of our relationship — that was not true. “Many didn’t believe that but it was a mutual agreement. We thought it was best for both of us, for me and the club.” Jose on... signing a four-year deal: “I am where I want to be so now it’s up to me to work hard to show my club that I deserve to be here for a long time. “We have a contract of four years, in the first stage I hope we can look to the last day of his contract and if in the end the club is happy and wants me to stay I will be more than happy to do that.” Jose on... how his return came about: “First of all I decided that I was going to leave my previous club, that was like the trigger and I needed to make that decision and I made that decision. “After that it was a question of analysing the situation, analyse the possibilities and make the decision which I believe is the best decison for my happiness. “So when the Chelsea situation appears really and strongly, decision made.” Jose on... his personality: “At 50 I think I am still very young as a manager and I think it was like the beginning of a new period. “Do I have a different personality? No, but for sure I have a different approach and perspective. “Calmer? I believe so. You have to learn with experiences. Sometimes people speak about people in negative way. “I haven’t arrived there yet but experience is vital if you use it well. “I analyse myself every day as manager, leader and member of a club and I try to improve.” Jose on... John Terry: “From me, there will be not one word about Rafa Benitez’s decisions, on John or any other player. “What I can say is about the future — I’ll meet John in the first week of July and try to get the best out of him. “I know what he can give, let’s try to make him again a very important player which he couldn’t be last season.” Jose on... Iker Casillas: “I play the players I think are the best for the team. “If I think somebody deserves to play, he has to play. If somebody has a big profile, a big stature, a big career, I cannot give him a privilege. “It was a football decision, I decided for one player and not the other and it is up to the player to accept it or not. “All my decisions are based on meritocracy, then I can sleep well.” Jose on... new signings: “There is a group of boys that Chelsea did very well to get in these past years and I will be more than happy to work with them and improve them. “We always have ambition to add a couple of new players, to give different qualities and increase the competitiveness. “The most important part of my job at the moment is the improvement of the youth here. They have big potential and I think I have the conditions to help improve them.” Jose on... his managerial rivals: “I’m still a bit disappointed that I’m back and I’ll go to Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson is not there. “But David Moyes has conditions and experiences and protection from the club to do his job and do well. “Arsene Wenger is there and I’m happy he is. “And the three boys — when I say boys I say it with the right feeling — Brendan Rodgers, Steve Clarke and Andre Villas-Boas. “I’m more than happy to be in same league and wish them all the best. “Manuel Pellegrini is a man with a lot of experience. It is the first time he moves here but he has the maturity and quality to do a good job.” Jose on... claims he ‘damaged’ Spanish football: “I damaged Spanish football by being the manager who broke Barcelona dominance. “It looked like a dominance without an end but Real Madrid won the cup final against Barcelona, won the Super Cup against Barcelona, won in Barcelona and won the championship. “That is the historic championship — which is 100 points and 101 goals. I hurt it.” Jose on... his trophy priorities: “Chelsea focus on every competition — we can’t say one is more important than another one. “In this moment Champions League can’t be an obsession for me. It’s not an obsession for Chelsea. It’s a consequence of our work.” Jose on... Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku: “I want to meet them. I think it fair that the players the first one to know about the future and that future. “Chelsea invested a lot in the players — it’s my job to extract the best out of that investment. Both players are ready to come and be a part of our squad.”
