MOVIE REVIEW: DIVERGENT By Pauline Roue Based on the best selling novel by Veronica Roth. I had heard this movie described somewhere as the poor mans Hunger Games.....Im happy to inform you that this movie for me, was even better than the Hunger Games... A strong ensemble cast featuring Ashley Judd (Olympus Has Fallen),Ray Stevenson (Thor:The Dark World)and Kate Winslet (The Reader) to name but a few and led by Shailene Woodley/Tris (The Descendants) and Theo James/Four (Underworld:Awakening). This movie takes you into a post-pandemic Chicago where society is divided into five factins based on human virtues - Candor (the Honest), Abnegation (the Selfless), Dauntless (the Brave), Amity (the Peaceful) and Erudite (the Intelligent). Main character Beatrice/Tris must choose between remaining in Abnegation with her family or being true to herself and who she really is....where ever that may lead her and the discoveries she makes about herself and those she loves along the way. Watch out for Lenny Kravitz (musician) and Lisa Bonets (The Cosby Show) daughter, Zoe Kravitz as Christina...a young lady with a promising career ahead of her.... Great holiday viewing, with some interesting surprises thrown in and solid performances all round,.
