MOVIE REVIEW: EARTH TO ECHO (C) This was a big rip-off movie. First it was THE GOONIES. Then it was ET. Towards the end it was CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. And the narration at the end was STAND BY ME. All great movies. Its too bad I cant say that about this movie. It had a poor unoriginal screenplay and poor direction and editing. The only saving grace was 4 very talented child actors. The casting people did an amazing job here. In my opinion, getting away from this movie a bit, casting people are the most unsung people in the movie making process. Many times how they cast a movie can make or break it. This is my opinion of course. I have to admit that it was interesting to see to what extent these 4 movies were ripped off as this movie progressed. So it was not boring for me. It was some what of a mess. I can see why this finished movie has been changing distributors several times over the last couple of years. Disney had it at one time but wanted no part of it.
