MOVIE: THIS IS THE END: (Note: All the actors int his film play themselves) Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel are hanging out in LA for the weekend when they end up at a wild party at James Franco’s house attended by numerous young actors/stars including Michael Cera (playing against his “Juno” like stereotype as a lecherous self centered cad), Rihanna, Paul Rudd, Channing Tatum etc. In fact waiting to see who pops up next is actually kind of entertaining. But suddenly the inconveince of the apocalypse happens and now Rogen and Baruchel are trapped in with Franco in his house along with Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and unexpectantly loutous Danny McBride. Outside chaos and the end of days ranges while inside in between squabbling over the last Milky Way dialogue and action is filled with masturbation, giant penises, etc. Emma Watson does show up for one short stent to add a little variety. But the end of the world can’t wait and as I watched this movie I was kind of hoping it would come and put me out of my misery. There are the final climax scenes with mundane CGI generated demons with giant penises of course. I feel like this script was written by a couple of hormone addled 14 year old boys. And just like that age group there are some funny moments but after about 30 minutes one would need mind altering substances to enjoyably endure. 1 STAR.
