Contains arsenic, a cancer-causing toxic chemical that is fatal in high doses. 2. Most frozen products are preserved using carcinogenic substances. These are substances, radionuclides, or radiations that are agents directly involved in causing cancer. 3. Some eateries use certain harmful substances including Dimethylpolysiloxane to prepare chicken. Thats an anti-foaming agent made of silicone. Some also use Tertiary Butyl Hydroquinone (TBHQ), a chemical preservative so deadly, just five grammes can kill a human. 4. Another hard fact is the use of embalming chemicals used to preserve dead bodies. Typical embalming chemicals contain mixtures of methanol, ethanol, and other solvents. Now hundreds of metric tonnes of frozen poultry are imported into Benin Republic and most smugglers try to smuggle them into Nigeria. A lot of the chickens are already decomposing because they break the cold chain. When they break the cold chain, the status of the product is reduced. the NCS makes concerted efforts to stop these illicit merchants but it will take joint efforts by all stakeholders to successfully halt the menace.
