MOZART DAY BY DAY Monday 1 December 1777 Mannheim: Mozart plays the Rondo, K. 284f, and the 12 Piano Variations in C, K. 179, for the Prince-elector. The Rondo had been composed for the princes daughter Friday 1 December 1780 Salzburg: Premiere of the recitative and aria „Wie grausam ist, o Liebe ... Die neugeborne Ros’ entzückt“ K. 365a. The aria was composed by Mozart in Salzburg at the end of November for Emanuel Schikaneder who was visiting in the city. The aria was sung by Mademoiselle Adelheit as an insertion aria in the theater piece Die zwei schlaflosen Nächten. This was the first cooperation between Mozart and Schikaneder.
