Dynamic Positioning Instructor/Deck Simulation Instructor - Job Description: This position is considered a mid career level job, with potential for advancement. The Instructor will work as part of the Simulation Department with a specialty in Dynamic Positioning Systems, ECDIS, and Ship Handling. This is a full time position. - Skill/License Requirements: All applicants will need to possess a current STCW compliant USCG management level license, preferably of Unlimited Tonnage. Certification via the Nautical Institute as an unlimited DPO is required. Additionally, applicants should possess a STCW compliant Train the Trainer certification but if not, MPT has an in-house program available. Applicant will need to have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Programs and comfortable working with them. Prior experience in simulation and an understanding of the NI training scheme is required. - Salary Range: Salary shall be discussed with individual applicants, however the range will be $75,000- $100,000 per year, with health insurance and additional benefits. - Travel Requirements: Applicants will need to reside in, or relocate to, South Florida. Domestic and international travel may be a component of this position however the majority of the work will be at our Ft Lauderdale campus. 2. Deck Department Faculty, Offshore Training Division Lead Instructor - Job Description: This position is considered a mid career level job, with potential for advancement. The Lead Instructor will work as part of the Simulation Department with a specialty in Dynamic Positioning Systems, ECDIS, and Ship Handling. The Lead Instructor will be responsible for coordinating class presentations, instructor development, working with the curriculum department to keep courses updated, attend NI meetings and conferences, and be part of the core instructor group presenting the information to students and working with students. This is a full time position. - Skill/License Requirements: All applicants will need to possess a current STCW compliant USCG management or operational level license, preferably of Unlimited Tonnage. Additionally, certification as an unlimited DPO will be a requirement of this position. Applicant will need to have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Programs and comfortable working with them. Applicant preference will be given to academy graduates or holders of a Master’s Degree education level. Experience working with Transas software and MT software is desired but not required. Certification in Train the Trainer is required; applicants without Train the Trainer may receive the training as part of their orientation package. Prior experience in simulation and an understanding of the NI training scheme is required. - Salary Range: Salary shall be discussed with individual applicants, however the range will be $95,000- $125,000 per year, with health insurance and additional benefits. Signing bonus, performance bonuses, and re-location expenses are not part of this offering but may be discussed on a case-by-case basis. - Travel Requirements: Applicants will need to reside in, or relocate to, South Florida. Domestic and international travel will be a component of this position however the majority of the work will be at our Ft Lauderdale campus.
