MR. Chairman KCJB Vice chairman Kareem, Mombasa toa donge lako members, distinguished guests, and fellow non members: Each month we gather to inaugurate a member of the month, we bear witness to the enduring strength of our group. We affirm the promise of our egalitarianism. We recall that what binds this group together is not the colors of our skin or the tenets of our faith or the origins of our names. What makes us exceptional – what makes us dongerians – is our allegiance to an idea, articulated in a declaration made two years ago when the group was formed. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” Today we continue a never-ending journey, to bridge the meaning of those words with the realities of our time. For history tells us that while these truths may be self-evident, they have never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth. The patriots of donge gave us a group of, and by, and for the people, entrusting each generation to keep safe our founding creed in doing charity I as a leader do concede defeat but let it be known no one is a looser in donge not even the silent members! because whatever we do is kheirat and in it everyone is a winner as Mother Theresa once said and I quote “it’s not how much you give, but how much love you put in the giving.” Let this be our driving moto in donge I give much gratitude to aysha chicca bonitta mamchi jarady bint breik nouf ahmed ahlam ahmed shabdin yusuf Muhammad ozil Umm Nu’maan Said swaleh Dru dru Ali shabal Ganga Lamu and many others I didn’t mention this came out totally as a surprise to me and believe me it’s a good feeling to know that I inspire many in this group can’t express my gratitude God bless donge God bless kenya God bless us all asalam aleiykum warakhmatullahi wabarakath.
