MR KNOTTS BLUEBIRD CARAVANS I painted caravans for Mr Knott I sprayed horse boxes quite a lot from Magnets to grand Pacific hues Swiss Cottages and caravanetts too they went abroad to States from Poole I decorated the kitchen and the chassis I did spray they told me that in peace work I earned the highest pay There were Gypsy wagons on the heath barber shops in Newtown and thats where I cut my teeth I was the highest paid boy in the factory I sprayed another horsebox then I ran home for tea Mr Knott he had yachts n sailed them in Poole bay then he cut our wages by twenty per cent reduced our pay When we all went on strike it was on the tv I was famous at last interviewed by the BBC I met all the big boys from the unions and press in my CND stance and my American dress I stood on the picket line and I answered the call but the battle was lost when he sacked one n all
