MR PRESIDENT AND THE NIGER DELTA MILITANTS. When Obasanjo was president for Eight(8) years he did not enjoy the blind support of his kinsmen, the Yorubas! Throughout his tenure, the south- westerner s did not for any reason make any threat to disterblize the country! Like wise the Late Umaru Musa Yaradua. The northerners were the people that battled him on his sick-bed and sphereheaded the adoption of the Doctrine of Neccessity which is the reason why Jonathan is the president of Nigeria today. What is happening in Nigeria today is a politics of religious sentiment and ethnic jingoism courtesy of unpatriotic and incompetent handling of the nation by the incumbent leadership! The Niger/ Deltans and the Ndigbos seem to be ready to go to any length to make sure the president is returned elected in 2015 even if that will mean the disintegration of the nation. So the question we are asking is; Must the Niger/Deltans or rather the Ijaws rule us even at the expense of the countrys unity?
