MRU Weekly review THE POST OF MRU #CHIEF FRESHER SHOULD BE CANCELED, SAYS BIRIMUYE. Chief Fresher #Birimuye Vincent wrote a letter to the dean’s office requesting her to cancel the post of Chief Fresher at Muteesa I Royal University. Birimuye argued that, basing on the fact that when electing a chief fresher, the Guild funds are used and yet there are no defined roles or duties in either the student’s handbook or the University Constitution. He also added that the chief fresher remains ceremonial because he lacks a stipulated platform to express the grievances of the entire fresh men and women fraternity. Imagine the Chief fresher is not even a member of the Guild Council or any other organ of the Guild Government. Basing on the above views he advised the University not to waste it’s time and funds in organizing the elections of the chief fresher.
