MSEP partner, GBX Consultants, Inc. is accepting resumes for a full time Benefits and Compliance Specialist. LOCATION: (Lake Forest/Orange County, California) The successful candidate’s primary role is to perform tasks in the areas of group health and welfare benefits, regulatory compliance, and records maintenance. The Benefits and Compliance Specialist will ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements. Benefits and Compliance Specialist duties include: • Determine and maintain compliancy with federal and state laws and regulations. • Analyze and recommend compliance actions for new and evolving legislation. • Develop and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure sound administrative programs and to ensure the company’s compliance with various state and federal laws and regulations. • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. • Assess report findings and make recommendations to executive leadership, as needed. • Formulate, recommend, and implement, policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations. • Prepare and maintain Employee Handbook. • Manage the administration and annual renewal negotiations and subsequent open enrollment of the companys benefit programs for health, dental, flexible spending plan, supplemental insurance plans, 401(k) retirement plan, and other programs. • Provide day-to-day benefits administration services to employees. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications include the following: • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field required, plus three to five years’ experience. In lieu of formal education, at least six years of demonstrated, progressive experience in human resources. • Experience working for a multi-state employer and government contractor a plus. Must be aware of local, multi-state, and federal employment laws and regulations. • Proven ability to develop and maintain programs that meet federal and state laws and regulations including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, VEVRAA, USERRA, and Section 503. • Must be able to effectively work in a collaborative team environment or alone with minimum guidance for extended periods of time. • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. Must possess good judgment, personal motivation, and the ability to work independently on recurring office procedures and tasks. • Professional demeanor and able to maintain confidentiality. • Demonstrated competence in using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
