MSP Seeking Information on Motor Vehicle Crash on Rt.24 North in Randolph with Serious Injury Today at approximately 5:30pm, troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Milton Barracks responded to a two vehicle crash on Rt.24 North in the area of Exit 20 in Randolph. The investigation is currently ongoing, with the assistance of troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, H-Troop Community Action Team, H-Troop Investigators and troopers assigned to the State Police Detective Unit attached to the Norfolk County District Attorneys Office. The Randolph Fire/Rescue Department also responded. Initial investigation indicates the vehicle left the roadway after being struck by a smaller SUV, black or dark blue in color, which left the scene after causing the crash. The vehicle that left the scene is believed to have been occupied by a female operator, and possibly by a female passenger. Witnesses indicated that it appeared as though a third vehicle pursued the small SUV that caused the crash. The SUV is believed to have damage to the drivers side mirror and/or front end. Lane restrictions were in place until approximately 8:30pm to provide safety to on scene investigators. A 19 year-old female passenger in the vehicle that was struck was ejected when the vehicle entered the median. She sustained life-threatening injuries, was initially transported to Milton Hospital, and was later transferred to Beth Israel Hospital where she remains in serious condition. Her name is not anticipated to be released tonight pending family notification.
