MSU FOOTBALL SENIORS SHOWCASE TALENT IN FRONT OF NFL SCOUTS AT PRO DAY STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State’s 2013 football senior class showcased its talent in front of 24 NFL teams on Wednesday as part of the school’s annual Pro Day at the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex and Palmeiro Center. Six Bulldogs took part in drills from sprints, agility tests and bench press with NFL scouts on hand. Offensive guard Gabe Jackson and running back LaDarius Perkins only participated in position drills. Both posted outstanding numbers at last month’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Jackson is widely considered the top guard prospect for the 2014 NFL Draft. The All-American ranked in the top five among offensive linemen in the vertical (29.0 inches) last month. Perkins posted the fifth-fastest 40-yard dash time by a running back with a mark of 4.46. “I am a physical player who is consistent,” said Jackson. “I love football. You have to have the attitude that you are going to do the best you can do. It’s been fun visiting with NFL teams.” Linebacker Deontae Skinner had an impressive all-around day, notching a 9’-9’’ broad jump and a 31-inch vertical. Defensive end Denico Autry registered a 30-inch vertical. Offensive tackle Charles Siddoway also was outstanding in agility drills. Quarterback Tyler Russell and safety Nickoe Whitley did not participate after recovering from injury. MSU seniors will continue individual workouts with select teams leading up to the NFL Draft, which begins on Thursday, May 8 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. --HailState-- Bill Martin Assistant AD/Media Relations Mississippi State Athletics
