#MSwx - Good Morning Mississippi! Temperatures have dropped into the upper-20s and low 30s this morning under clear skies. Although were seeing a very cold start to the day, well pull off a 30° swing by this afternoon as highs rise back into the mid-60s. You can thank a stiff south westerly breeze for helping our cold morning temperatures to rebound this afternoon. Winds will be sustained between 10 and 20 miles per hour with gusts upwards of 25-30 mph. Its the busiest travel day of the year, and the good news is, there wont be any major problems if youre commuting within the Magnolia State or around the Deep South. However, if you plan on driving or flying north today, expect to run into some travel delays due to a big snow storm moving through the Northeast and a second storm starting to push through the Upper-Mississippi Valley. The storm pushing up the east coast could dump up to 10 or more inches of snow in some spots to a freezing rain/wintry mix in outlying locations. Check with your airline ahead of time for delays and cancellations. A dry cold front will push in this evening, helping to pull in slightly cooler temperatures again for your Thanksgiving Day, but our temperatures look to rebound in a big way this coming weekend. Expect a high on Saturday in the mid-60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies, and for highs to return to the 70s by the second half of the weekend. Our next chance of rain looks to hold off until Monday. Enjoy the holiday and the beautiful weekend!
