MTUMODZI TO HEAD MBC, TIMPUNZA HIS DEPUTY: Following our earlier disclosure about the impending sacking of the current Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General, Dr Benson Tembo, we can now confirm that Mr Chikumbutso Mtumodzi of the Ministry of Information has been earmarked as the incoming MBC boss. Mtumodzi, is the current Director of Information in the ministry. He is expected to be deputised at MBC by Timpuza Mwansambo, one of the lieutenants of former Director General Bright Malopa. Mwamsambo, was transferred to Mzuzus Kaningina Studios following the death of former late President Bingu Wa Mutharika. Timpunza Mwansambo, is reported to have apologised to President Banda following the death of late Mutharika and he is reported to be considered on those basis and his educational background. Apart from refusing to play dirty propaganda programmes on MBC, Dr Benson Tembo, is being removed because his son, Daliso, is an aspiring Member of Parliament for Neno under the opposition, DPP. This is reported to have infuriated Malawis acting leader Mrs Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda. Earlier, some PP stewards had been pushing for Wellingtone Kuntaja and Thomas Chafunya for MBC DG and Deputy respectively. However, their education background has betrayed them. Meanwhile, Information Minister Brown Mpinganjira has put his foot down to have Presidential propagandist Elias Wakuda Kamanga be appointed MBC boss saying it would be too obvious for Malawians to smell a rat. Last week, interim President Joyce Banda suggested to Mpinganjira for Wakuda Kamanga to head MBC. However, we have just learnt that the Information Minister advised the Malawi leader, against appointing Wakuda Kamanga at the helm of MBC. Achoke! Achoke! Achoke!!!
