MURDER CASE: Matthew Gilbert, suspected of beating and killing his girlfriend, Anne Pennington, in 2013, entered a plea agreement for his charges on Friday. The agreement was that he will be sentenced to 40 years for the second degree murder, 30 years for the attempt to kidnap, said Hassan Rasheed, assistant prosecuting attorney in Jefferson County.
