MURPHYS vs TKS STEAKHOUSE. Travis Murphy, Pauls son, has opened - TopicsExpress

MURPHYS vs TKS STEAKHOUSE. Travis Murphy, Pauls son, has opened his own version of Murphys on the east side (in the old Outlaws place). I went and had a hot hamburger twice. I have mixed reviews. First of all, both places you can get a great meal, so that is the good news. Travis gravy is very good (it is on the spicy side), bursting with flavor. So I give the gravy a thumbs up. However, the french fries dont even come close to Murphys West fries. Thumbs down. Mix it all up, and I would eat a hot hamburger at either place and be very happy! People, its all about the hot hamburger, that is what put Murphys on the map. Also, you cant get the famous, one of a kind, garlic dressing at TKs that we all crave from Murphys. However, their version of garlic dressing is very, very good. Hopefully, both can continue feeding hungry Bartians through the decades. And as good as TKs gravy is, you have to ask yourself, is this the hot hamburger addiction that Paul & his dad gave Bartlesville? The answer is no, but it is probably the best imitation we will ever get. Im sure Travis would say we arent here to compete with Murphys, but in a way, they are. I can say Im impressed with Travis and his menu, and I hope he has every success in the world. Sometimes we eat at Murphys for comfort, for sentiment, or for both. And on a beautiful fall day, with the leaves flying through the air, Murphys will be my first choice. GO WILDCATS!
