Hiring Department - Research Reactor Center Job Description Provide support for the facilities at the University of Missouri Research Reactor including nuclear research in areas of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and general fabrication of requested equipment and components. Duties include the ability to receive written/verbal instruction, interpret drawings, and work from those instructions or drawings; the ability to setup and operate various machine shop equipment including drill presses, mills, lathes, table saws, and hand tools; perform preventative & corrective maintenance of facility mechanical systems as well as minimal electrical maintenance and minimal support of exterior grounds and facility infrastructure, including painting. Candidate may also provide site or project supervision to campus or contractor personnel working at MURR. Successful candidate must have ability to routinely interact with diverse MURR staff as well as campus, command basic computer skills, and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Candidate must also possess a valid Missouri driver license. Hiring Range $17.00-$22.00 Shift M-F, 8-5 Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma supplemented by appropriate trade school training or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. At least five years of experience in a related field is necessary. Skill in the maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of the trade is necessary.
