EVENTS ARE FREE (though I do hope some paintings are purchased here and there) LINKS TO ALL THINGS ART SOCIAL to book a seat or table (great organic, non-gmo food there) - - - about ANDREA MASSE (this coming Tuesday) Andrea is informative, down-to-earth, and her massive credentials make her presentation a must. Do not miss this. My name is Andrea Masse-Tognetti, but Im better known as Merimask. Im a self-representing outsider mask artist with no agent, no art degree, no affiliation with any gallery...and yet Ive managed to create a career in my genre with nothing more than my own two hands. My credentials include work created for Cirque Du Soleil, The Metropolitan Opera, an independent film called White Fox Mask, and pieces for the TV show Once Upon A Time, among other things. I appeared on The Martha Stewart Show (shes very tall), and am currently working on designs for a major recording artists world tour. All this happened largely due to my ability to translate my physical work into appealing digital images and effective text, for consumption on social media. As an anachronistic artisan who gets her hands dirty daily creating art using old-world methods, the greatest irony is that my worldwide appeal is due to modern technology. If youre interested in hearing more about how I do what I do, and you wonder if theres a way to parlay a hands-on artisan craft into a burgeoning art career, comment here and let Jane know! Im regionally available to talk at your Art Social this week, and am looking forward to meeting with curious, creative people in a relaxed setting, so we can talk and share experiences and ideas.
