MUSIC SUNDAY TO SUNDAY: Sun, Nov 10th, Lisa Marie Presley, Eddies Attic, She sang,(and played some drums) on that little stage with five other musicians. To the left of the stage was a guy working a computer, to the right was her sound guy with a big board( this was in addition to the house sound guy),..and her bodyguard was in front with a headset on and staring into the crowd...I guess to make sure nobody was videotaping the show. With all that help, how could she not sound great? The loud, sold-out crowd loved every minute of it. Weds, Nov 13th, Kate Nash, Terminal West. Yes, I went to this show because she is a cute British gal but had a good time with the 80% twentysomething female crowd-many of whom crowdsurfed...including Kate herself while still playing her guitar. The encore had an I Am the Walrus vibe, so I asked the sound guy the name of it....he hands me a set list. Thats the first time I been given one without asking, HA I guess Ill have to get her to sign it. Thurs, Nov 14th, Kevn Kinney, 40 Watt. I MISSED this show, but Pete, Mike, and Bill, from R.E.M. got on stage to perform Rockville. Im told that Michael was there too, but did not get on stage...as that would have meant it was a REM reunion! Friday, Nov 15th, Os Mutantes, The Earl. This Brazilian band started in 1966. If you think youd like a psychedelic Crosby, Stills, & Nash,....this is your band! Great set! Sat, Nov 16th, Elton John, Philips Arena, a 27 song set for a packed house. Rose Stone was one of the backup singers...and there I was without my Woodstock album. He played All the Young Girls Love Alice...so I was happy! Sunday, Nov 17th, Mose Jones, Smiths, I have a soft spot for old Atlanta area bands like Hydra, Radar, Kudzu, ARS, anything Darryl Rhoades cooked up,...and Mose Jones. Keyboardist Steve Riley is the only surviving original member. The second band recorded an album in 1980 that was never released....so tonight, in 2013, they had a CD release party, ate dinner, and played a a few songs. I got there late, but the finale included the great Francine Reed to sing some Ray Charles....with her special delivery of lyrics, like lipstick on your chest! Ahh Francine....
