MUSINGS OF A RETRO SOUL: After a long day at work, having to travel to Jax for a meeting, getting stuck in horrific traffic in bad weather I called the kennel to find out that I forgot to book Brutus. I now have to take this shedding fur ball with me to Charleston which leaves me very limited options. Meaning I have to cancel getting my oil changed. On top of that earlier today I got dissed by so-called super Trek fans for voicing an opinion. And when I got home 6:15 this evening (after leaving 7:30 this morning) I realized that I left a pack of expensive bacon in the back of the car overnight. Upon my return from da Chuck tomorrow afternoon, Im ripping off the bra, sliding into the gaudiest pair of jammies I own and getting deliciously inebriated. It has been a very stressful few weeks and frankly Im over it. I just want my spawn, dog, cigar, Scotch Whisky (in that order) within the comfort of my own place. With the car situation this has become a very lean Christmas for us so its not about presents but spending quality time together. We may marathon something on Netflix (open to suggestions). Were definitely gonna eat foods we wait a year for. And drink lots of mulled wine. Yup, from Thanksgiving through today its been a pretty crappy time for the Figueroa Girls. Starting tomorrow, Mr. Sheddy McFurball and I are gonna get on the road and give a finger to all of the stressors of late. Its time to go old school. Put on some Donny Hathaway, Nat King Cole, Charles Brown, pour some brown liquor, light up a stogie and chill like old folks do during the holidays. Instead of whining about whats wrong, they hold up a glass and sway to the music and think about the future not the past. 2015 is just around the corner and with it comes endless possibilities. Yall have safe travels if on the road and have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
