MUST READ AND SHARE: Matthew Vandeputte, a world renowned timelapse/ hyperlapse photographer has his imagery stolen and then published. Matthew is a regular contributor to Diimex, a global content distribution platform for professional photographers/ videographers that has a very strong stance on copyright protection. Matthew (tjoez) contacted me after his imagery was stolen and subsequently published on the Mirror website in the UK. Matthews content in this instance was easily stolen due to a lack of watermarking. After meeting with Diimex Matthew has since changed his thought process when it comes to watermarking, but a day to night timelapse already on Instagram that hed forgotten to watermark slipped through the cracks. Trinity Mirror is in the process of being contacted in an effort to rectify the illegal use of Matthews content. Update to come.
