MUZAFFARABAD Black Day was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to condemn the blatant aggression committed by India on October 27, 1947. It may be mentioned here that India occupied Kashmir on October 27, 1947 by violating all canons of justice, and contrary to the ground realities in Kashmir with its centuries-old geographical, religious, and cultural links with Pakistan. The day was declared as a holiday and rallies were taken out by Kashmir Liberation Front and Pakistan Peoples Party in Muzaffarabad. MNA Marvi Memon also took part in the rally marched towards the LOC. Public meetings were also held by Muslim Conference, Kashmir Liberation Cell in this regard. The Muttahida Jihad Council organised a well-attended Azm-e-Nau Conference, which was presided over by Syed Salahuddin, Chairman (MJC) and participated and addressed by leaders and activists of 15 religious and jihadi organisations including Hizbul Mujahideen, Hizbullah, Islamic Front, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Hizb-e-Islami, Jamaatul Islam, and others. The Conference vowed that the armed struggle would continue till India withdraws its forces from Kashmir and agrees to a settlement of the issue in accordance with the UN Security Councils resolutions. Syed Salahuddin said that India was using delay tactics for holding meaningful dialogue on the issue. However, he warned that Kashmiri Mujahideen would talk to India in their own way. He said that India managed to continue its occupation of Kashmir with the deployment of around 800,000 troops, which, he said, was not a matter of pride. Prime Minister AJK Sardar Attique Ahmad while addressing a public meeting organised by Kashmir Liberation Cell, said that Kashmiris heroic struggle against the Occupation of Kashmir by India was a referendum. The world powers should take notice of the Indian Occupation and support the struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self-determination. Attique pointed out that Indias perpetual aggression in Kashmir had put the peace of the region in danger. He appealed to the world powers to play their effective role to get the Kashmir issue resolved. Former prime minister AJK Raja Farooq Haider, while addressing a public meeting at the Central Press Club, said that India had lost Kashmir. He also said that the Pakistani Government should revise its Kashmir policy. He said it was the responsibility of the world powers to bring about peace in South Asia by resolving the Kashmir issue. He said people were looking towards Main Nawaz Sharif for a dominant role to steer the country out of chaotic conditions. Our Staff Reporter from Islamabad adds: Black Day was observed across the country in order to show solidarity with Kashmiris fighting for their right of self-determination. Seminars, functions and rallies were held on the occasion. All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) set up a camp outside the Diplomatic Enclave near United Nations offices in the Capital. The camp contained a huge number of Hurriyat leaders who were carrying placards and signboards against the highest level of tyrant practices observed by India in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Renowned Hurriyat leader Nizam Shahid told TheNation that the Kashmir issue would be solved very soon with the liberation of Kashmir from Indian occupation. The time to liberate Kashmir from the barbaric Indian occupation is fast approaching. The freedom movement is at its peak. We, the Kashmiris, would be enjoying the blessings of independence very soon, the legend former commander said. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, expressed complete solidarity with the Kashmiris and condemned in the strongest words the Indian Armys invasion of Kashmir on October 27, the Black Day. He said that Pakistan supports Kashmir cause politically, diplomatically and morally. The Federal Minister said that the Indian forces committed atrocities in IHK and Indian crimes in the Occupied Valley were unforgivable. My heart bleeds when I see my Kashmiris brothers sacrificing their precious lives at the hands of the unscrupulous and merciless beasts known as Indian Army, Wattoo said. The atrocities of Indian forces in the region are getting from worse to the worst with every passing day and we find no such brutal precedent in the history of the world, he added. The Federal Minister said that the international community should take notice of the Indias hostility in the Occupied Kashmir and should strive for the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
